Dentons continues to bolster its Global Venture Technology practice with the appointment of Sergio Legorreta in Mexico City as head of Mexico´s Venture Technology Practice and co-chair of Dentons’ Venture Technology Practice in Latin America and the Caribbean.

The highly-ranked, multi award-winning technology, innovation, venture and intellectual property lawyer, Legorreta will lead Dentons’ Mexico Venture Technology practice and co-chair its Latin America and Caribbean Venture Technology practice. His expertise, including senior leadership positions at top multi-national and Latin American corporations, spans intellectual property, technology, telecommunications, media, communications, venture and emerging companies and regulatory life sciences. The appointment comes as the firm continues to strengthen its technology capabilities to service local and multi-national clients across Mexico, Latin America and around the world.

Prior to joining Dentons, Legorreta led an international firm’s technology, IP and life sciences practices in Mexico for 15 years and in Latin America for 4 years.

Legorreta is a well-known technologist and advocate to entrepreneurship and innovation and has acted as mentor and board member at Endeavor, MassChallenge, Startup Mexico, Angel Ventures, 500 Startups, MITA Ventures and other accelerators and incubators in Mexico and Latin America.

His practice has been recognized as a preeminent leader in Mexico and is currently ranked as Band 1 in Chambers & Partners, Tier 1 in Legal 500, Tier 1 in Media Law International, IP Star by Managing IP, Band 1 in IFLR Expert Guides and is a LACCA Approved Counsel.
